Later glosses that adapt the treatises to local practice
Esta página aún no está traducida al español. Se muestra el texto en inglés.
The layer between the verse and the modern reader: centuries of gloss that adapted the treatises to local material, climate and patronage.
Kerala's Tantrasamuccaya and Manuṣyālayacandrikā, Bengali and Rajasthani śilpa manuals, and the Tamil kaṇakku tradition all rework the inherited rules for their own conditions — often silently substituting a local timber, span or ritual sequence.
Most rules that circulate today as "Vastu" arrive through this layer rather than from the treatises directly, which is why we cite the gloss separately from the verse.
